Our Summer Camps

Registration

"For three days, June 15 - 17, the stables were busy with the first ever “Riding Camp at JF Stables”!  Each of the campers was eager to learn which horse would be hers for the rest of the week.  The day started with a riding lesson.  Not only was there an instructor, there was also a volunteer for each camper!  There was a quick snack time, before heading back to the stables!  To help the camper understand the responsibilities that come with owning a horse, there was a session on horse chores.  Then it was off to a craft session.  Each camper made two horseshoe picture frames!  It was so fun to see what each of them created!  Lunch followed in the stable lounge before ending the day back with the horses for another riding lesson!  We all enjoyed a quick game reviewing what had been learned that day.  Finally, each camper was responsible for grooming and giving some extra TLC to her horse before heading home.  Was the camp a success?  Watch each camper ride independently through an obstacle course on the final day of camp!  See all of them enjoy riding together in the outdoor arena (See the camp videos on our facebook page)!  You can judge for yourself!  On our part, we ALL enjoyed our time at the “JF Stables Riding Camp” and look forward to our next camp experience!

*August 22-24 camp level dependent on interest   - Age requirement: 9 years old or older - Minimum 3 riders, maximum 5 riders per camp

We are happy to report that our 2017 Summer Camps were a huge success! We enjoyed getting to know the campers and watching their progress as they learned all about horses from the basics of grooming and safety, to the advanced art of dressage and gaming. All of the kids contributed their unique talents to the camp and we were proud to present them with a diploma for each camp level they participated in.

Unfortunately, we have decided to not host our summer camps this year. Johanne has been running clinics and events back-to-back all year, and is taking a well-deserved break to focus on her personal horses. (Keep an eye out for her at local competitions!)The Summer Camps will return in 2019. In the meantime, we are still offering private and group riding lessons year-round! Contact Us for more information!

Our summer camps are geared for kids of all experience levels! All of our camps are fun and educational; each camp showcases different crafts, games, ride time, and learning activities, tailored to suit the experience level of the camper.

At the end of each session, each camper will be given a diploma and access to a password-protected online photo album filled with pictures from the event. In addition to this, all camps have their own unique games, crafts, and fun activities so that returning campers don't get tired of the same old routine.

Our Level I class teaches beginners the basics of horsecare, riding skills, and understanding safety/control.

Our Level II class teaches intermediate riders how to groom, tack up, and ride without assistance, emergency dismount, bareback riding, more in-depth horse care (inclduing farrier, veterinary, and equine dental work), and the cost of horse ownership.

Our Level III class teaches advanced riders the finer details of riding, including transitions, maintaining gaits, gaming, dressage, and other skills.
